Tier 1 Support Analyst

Job Description
Primary Responsibilities

This position has a high level of customer interaction and works closely with the Tier 1 team to troubleshoot and resolve issues. This position is responsible for triaging and resolving incoming tickets, in addition to building, shipping, and implementing our products.

Essential Functions
  • Responds to client requests for information and assists in problem resolution.
  • Maintains contact with clients on operational and production problems.
  • Troubleshoots hardware, software and network problems impacting customers.
  • Escalates to Tier 2 as needed in a timely manner to ensure SLAs are met.
  • Performs hardware builds and QA to prepare for shipment on new orders and replacements.
  • Performs packing, shipping, and tracking duties.
  • Assists in management of physical inventory.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • 1-2 years in Support position or equivalent experience/knowledge.
  • Experience using Linux
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Great people skills.
  • High school diploma required
  • BS or BA degree in technology related field a plus.
  • Network+ or relevant networking certifications a plus.
  • Looking for a very driven individual who is eager to learn and advance.

Job Title: Linux Systems Engineer
(Junior to Mid-Level – 2-5 years experience)

Job Description:
Reliant is a leader in providing converged infrastructure solutions to the retail and hospitality industry.  Our customers are some of the largest and best known global store, restaurant, and hospitality brands.  The Linux Systems Engineer performs production systems integration work involving Linux, networking, open source tools, and automation to implement our solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with clients or project manager to integrate the Redbox solution into their environment for their needs.
  • Update any additional security settings for the enterprise firewalls
  • Demonstrate best-practice knowledge and apply skills to deliver an effective solution specific to client needs.
  • Interface with development team on projects for clients as well as QA.
  • Some occasional travel to client sites may be required.
Success Metrics:
  • Successfully engages on several simultaneous initiatives
  • Delivers projects on time
  • Delivers quality implementations
  • Ability to work as a member of and integrated team
Requirements:
  • Experience with medium to large scale production environments.
  • High level of knowledge of Linux systems and services, particularly network services such as iptables, bind, quagga, etc
  • Strong skills in scripting and development of systems automation tools (using bash, Ruby, etc.)
  • Familiarity with any of Hiera, Redis, or Postgres a plus
  • Familiarity with Git or other version/code management a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on Linux Systems Administration experience
  • Experience with log analysis, monitoring and alerting systems (e.g. Splunk/Sensu/etc)
  • Excellent understanding of networking including TCP/IP, routing, routing protocols, firewalls, VLANs, and VPNs (both SSL and IPSEC)
  • Experience with AWS EC2 services.
  • Experience with systems automation (e.g. Puppet/Chef/Ansible/Salt), Puppet experience a plus.
  • Solid grasp of security concepts and technologies.
  • Ability to work as a team as well as individually
  • Comfortable working in a small company where you may be asked to wear multiple hats.
  • Experience with lower powered devices and system tuning.
  • Understanding of virtualization, experience with QEMU/KVM,
  • Experience with payment processing or PCI a plus
  • CISSP, or other Security certificates is a plus
