Reliant Security Reports Outstanding Sales Growth by Simplifying PCI Compliance for Retail Merchants

Reliant Security’s MPS Redbox PCI Data Security Solution Shows Strong Adoption by Retail Chains

Press Release
New York, NY, October 20, 2010 – Reliant Security, market leader in Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance technology solutions for retail merchants, today reported strong momentum and company growth for the first half of 2010. With its distinctive Managed PCI System (MPS) Redbox appliance, Reliant Security provides an integrated products and services platform for merchants with distributed retail locations to meet data security control objectives, including requirements for the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

Continuing to deliver on a successful vertical market strategy, Reliant Security has seen a significant rise in MPS Redbox adoption for retail merchants. “In this past six months our revenue was the largest of Reliant Security’s brief three year history – and galvanizes our third straight year of increasing sales,” says Richard Newman, Managing Partner for Reliant Security. Newman adds, “Our recent product release–MPS Redbox Version 2.0–with its enhanced feature set is a primary contributor to these increased sales numbers.”

Some of the new customers in 2010 include:

  • Urban Outfitters
  • Hudson Group
  • The Salvation Army Family Stores
  • Total Wine & More

John Devine, Executive Director of IT for Urban Outfitters, finds the MPS Redbox versatile: “We were evaluating solutions to provide Wireless IDS protection for our store locations. The Reliant Security MPS Redbox was recommended to us by an existing customer. We tested the solution and found that the MPS Redbox not only supported Wireless IDS, but also addressed many other PCI Requirements and provided the ability to add additional services as needed. The ability to use the appliance to address multiple business needs made the return on my PCI investment even greater.”

Hudson News, the international newsstand brand of premier travel retailer Hudson Group, will be implementing a new broadband network in their 600 transportation retail store locations, so they needed to find a PCI compliant solution that would scale to their continued growth. “Reliant Security helped us assess our all-store environment, working closely with our team to ensure that we have met all PCI Requirements. As we implement our new high-speed network, the MPS Redbox will help us to remain PCI compliant and also provide an appliance platform that can be leveraged for future customer-centric services. Our focus with the MPS Redbox going forward is to further improve our customers’ shopping experience,” says Gary MacRae, Senior Vice President and CIO of Hudson News.

“Reliant Security’s MPS Redbox provides a comprehensive security solution that has been ‘purpose built’ to meet specified PCI Compliance requirements,” says Rick Dakin, President of Coalfire, a leading IT Audit and Compliance firm. “The previous wave of partial and un-validated solutions is no longer acceptable and merchants and retailers are demanding more mature and cost-effective solutions. The MPS Redbox has been validated to be effective under strict PCI compliance testing procedures. Welcome to the new era of security solutions that actually help drive merchants to compliance with PCI Data Security standards. The market demands more and this solution provider is actually delivering a validated solution.”
